Comment: I attended Corcoran Sch. of Art & U of Md., joined VISTA & trained at U of Oregon in Eugene. I served on the Paiute/Shoshone Indian Reservation on the Nevada, Oregon border and Navajo Res. in Az. I got my B.A. at Northern Az. U & my M.Ed at Az. State U. I married a Navajo artist named Benally, we have a daughter. I taught on Navajo res. and traveled to their schools & other western tribal schools to observe, consult, and assist. During that time, I was able to engage in many exciting activities such as skiing in Colorado, Utah, and Az. I did rock & mountain climbing, hiking, river & white water rafting, exploring historical sites, attending & participating in tribal ceremonies & festivities. I hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon& swam in the Colorado River where I almost drowned. I also rode a mule down there to assist a Havasupai School. I taught for Charles & P.G. county pub. schools. |
