Feel free to leave a message for your classmates particularly if you can not make the reunion.
It's been a privilege and a lot of fun helping with our reunions over the past few decades. I am so glad to be able to see so many classmates on October 11th. We are the Tigers, Mighty Mighty Tigers!
Greetings to the BEST graduating Class of DuVal ~ 1965! Thanks to all the Reunion planning committees throughout the years for their hard work and dedication to give us fellowship, food, and fun. My years at DuVal will always hold a special place in my heart. Wonderful friendships were formed; some remain today. Fellow band members from Glenridge to Duval; Drama Club; and the ’64-’65 Pom Pom squad all provided me with happy unforgettable memories. Special thanks to senior Sally Kiel who insisted I audition for the Pom Pom squad. Our sports teams also delivered outstanding moments of Tiger pride. Sadly, I am unable to be with you but know that my Tiger spirit will never fade. Would enjoy hearing from you. Highlights 1965 - 2025: Worked part-time in Senator Dirksen's office while attending The Washington School for Secretaries. Employed by CEOs at Home Shopping Network; banks; Auburn University; and Executive Assistant for 16 years to Jack Valenti, president of the Motion Picture Association. While there I had the privilege of working with Hollywood celebrities and attending the Oscars. Other exciting positions followed until I retired and relocated to Murrells Inlet, SC. Living ten minutes by golf cart from the ocean has been a slice of heaven on earth. When I wasn't swimming, I wrote "The Gatekeeper~Little Girl BIG DREAMS," my memoire. I have dabbled in painting, writing, singing, playing my piano and community volunteering. Fast forward to September 2020 when I married Tom, my soulmate. He plays guitar/sings and invites me to accompany him occasionally. We live a leisurely life with days at the beach and nights listening to a variety of bands on the Grand Strand and entertaining friends. That's a wrap, dear Tigers.
Dear Class of 1965, I have been remiss in not writing well before now. In fact, if any of you turned in an assignment as late as this message, I certainly lowered your mark. I remember your class fondly and very much regret that I'm not there celebrating with you this weekend. Thank you for your emails. As you have no doubt concluded, I'm pretty hopeless at responding. But if you were to write to tell me you'll be in London, you would be sure to get a speedy reply. Sharpest among my memories of your class is the day JFK was shot. Richard Irons returned from taking the absense report to the office with the news. I remember his concern for Richard Greer, whose dad was with LBJ's secret service detail. That year, and especially in the 5th period class, Whitman's "When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloomed" had a far deeper significance that ever before or after. I thank you for being fine and challenging students. You helped to make teaching fun (most days). With happy memories and best wishes for a most successful reunion, Pat Tatspaugh
Tacking this on to Joe Hester's note below. Joe knew a lot of us from Glenridge and Chas Carroll. He said to email him if you could. There is no email shown but he is at: joe4sarah@aol.com I've been in touch with him of late and know he would love to hear from any and all.
Hello there! I didn't graduate with you guys. I moved to Florida in the middle of ninth grade. I was at Charles Carroll Middle School, Glen Ridge Junior High, and Lanham Elementary, and lived in Carrolton. Some of the folks I remember woiuld be: Steve Carson, Jim Barton, Pat Chambers, Ned Helme,Diane Allen, Carol Jones, Teddy Grimaldi,Rick Lohfelf, Dicky Spencer, Bob Pangle, Janet Swain, Stephanie Sickles...other names and high school photos are familiar, also. That was a while ago. If you happen to read this and remember me, send an email. I would really enjoy hearing from you.
Hello everyone. Suddenly 70 is only a couple of years away! Unbelievable. I'm still in the area (Sterling, VA), and my wife and I would like to attend the reunion. But unfortunately we won't be able to becuase we're pulling up stakes and moving to FL in a couple of months. Kind of a semi-retirement move. I certainly hope the reunion is a success. Have fun! Best Regards, Steve
Finally Wes and I are semi retired and enjoying it. We celebrated our 50th wedding Anniversary this past January. We have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren. We are both excited to see some old friends at the reunion and maybe meet some new ones. This past 50 years have gone fast. We are now REALLY Seniors!6F

50 years? Where did the time go? Looking forward to looking back at a time when we were young and naive and ready to "whip the world". :-)
I hope to see everybody there. It is going to be fun.
