Looking forward to reconnecting.  A lot of events back then helped shape my life and this is a great opportunity for me to say thank you to those involved.  (Hope they show up)  Let me know if you are interested in a golf outing on the Saturday morning of the reunion.

Jane and I live in Austin, TX and I travel back to DC as part of business.  Austin is a lot like Glenn Dale, but it is flatter, hotter, louder.  Maybe not a lot like Glenn Dale, but I do get to see one of my classmates every day.

Update:  Hard to believe it's been a year since the reunion. I did pass my Texas Real Estate exam in December 2015 and am now associated with JBGoodwin Realtors in Austin, Texas. My retirement augmenatation income has become a necessity now.  After 30 years, David informed me via Facetime that he no longer wanted to be married and wished me all the best, before clicking the disconnect symbol.  The night before, he told me I love you, blew me a kiss and said he would see/talk to me the next day.  Go figure.  So.....I am no longer commuting between Washington and Texas, but I still LOVE living in Austin.  A very wise person told me during this sometimes chaotic transition the past five months that my divorce did not happen TO me, it happened FOR me.  It was time to move on.  Although I was blindsided by his decision, I now feel better than I have for a long long time, empowered to move forward to the next chapter in my life.

If you are thinking of moving to Austin, contact me and I will help you find the perfect home for your needs.  Or, if you are thinking of moving anyplace in the world, our company has an amazing relocation department that can find you the perfect realtor wherever you plan to go.  I can help you.

.......................

David and I reconnected at the 20 year reunion and have been married for 29 years.  Lots of fun adventures together. I moved to Austin, Texas in February, 2012- supposedly because David was going to retire from federal service in DC....... We commute between our apartment in Rockville and our retirement home in Austin. I love, love, love living in Austin. It is wonderful to be close to family members and old friends. I appreciate having the opportunity to spend more time on photography and crafts. Will soon have my real estate license so David and I can find homes to flip.

Before retiring, I worked as a:

House Director for a UC/Berkeley sorority that tested my management skills for maintaining a safe environment for 60 extremely bright and hormonal residents, who challenged my people skills on a daily basis.

Owned my own Organic Health Food Store for 11 years. Loved helping my customers improve their life through clean food, personal care and OTC medicines that resolved health issues without the side effects of prescription medications.

Career Learning Center Administrator for USIA. Worked with agency employees to build job skills and resume development. Government downsizing allowed me the opportunity to start my own business and forgo a daily five hour commute between West Virginia and DC.

Taught English and was Assistant Manager at Yamanashi English Service in Kofu, Japan. Total immersion in a culture significantly different from your 'normal' is very rewarding.

Executive Assistant to Vice President for a magazine publishing company based in Peterborough, New Hampshire.  Can't beat Autumn in New England.  Loved living in the country.
