Comment: Interrupted my College Park undergraduate studies with a 4-year enlistment in the Army Security Agency; most of enlistment stationed in West Germany. After graduation from Mom's journalism school worked in Easton, MD, Washington, DC, and Pittsburgh. On founding committee for Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force, and on community advisory board for University of Pittsburgh's Pitt Men's Study, now in its 40th year. Meantime, employed as an editor for an international consulting firm, and, in free time, enjoyed 20 years as an extra in the Pittsburgh Oprea productions. Jim and I have been together for 39 years, married for 9. On retiring I began serious traveling to Europe and Asia, with Portugal my favorite. I volunteered at the National Aviary for 8+ years; am now a docent at the Phipps Conservatory and a volunteer at Pittsburgh International Airport. After 50 years of cycling, many on long-distance rides, I retired my bicycle 2 years ago. Once my new knee fully heels, it's back to walking the streets and parks of this surprisingly beautiful city. |
